The Romantics, a recent Netflix documentary series, is currently in the news. The four-part television series is a tribute to Yash Chopra, a great director, and the 50 illustrious years that his production business, Yash Raj Films, has had in the history of Indian cinema. The Romantics, which was released on February 14, gives insight on the cultural influence that YRF had on the Indian audience. The documentary received lots of love and praise from the audience, and within 48 hours of its release, it was Netflix's top-trending title.
Interestingly, this series ended up being the first endeavor where the three Khans of Bollywood—Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan shared screen time.
Director Smriti Mundhra revealed, “While it’s pure coincidence that the three Khans - SRK, Salman & Aamir - appear together for the first time in The Romantics, in retrospect it makes sense. All three of these legends have shared an intimate professional and personal relationship with Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra, and for that reason they were each on my list of hopeful interviews. Besides being huge stars, they are also each thought leaders of Indian cinema and having them in The Romantics added so much insight to the series.”
More than 35 well-known Hindi film industry stars are featured in the series. In this Netflix production, Bollywood bigwigs and well-known filmmakers from the industry elaborated on their experiences working with Yash Chopra and his acclaimed son, Aditya Chopra.
