The makers of 'Pathaan' avoided media interactions with the star cast ahead of the movie release. However, the film has turned out to be a massive success at the box office, and it has already made more than Rs 500 crore worldwide inside five days. Hence, it is no surprise that Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and director Siddharth Anand addressed a press conference on Monday. The event turned out to be a spectacle and the entire star cast looked in a good mood. Shah Rukh Khan was at his wittiest best, and at times, even John Abraham and Deepika Padukone could not hold their laughter. However, the cherry on the cake turned out to be the last quote given by SRK where he termed himself as 'Akbar', Deepika as 'Amar' and John as 'Anthony'.
Shah Rukh Khan preaches inclusivity
SRK likened himself, Deepika and John to “Amar, Akbar, Anthony”, the characters from Manmohan Desai's 1977 film. Preaching inclusivity, SRK said: "This is Deepika, she is Amar, I’m Shah Rukh Khan, I’m Akbar and John he is Anthony. We are ‘Amar, Akbar, Anthony’. And this is what makes cinema. There are no differences any one of us have with any culture. We are hungry for audience’s love. All these crores are not important. The love we receive, nothing is bigger than that,” said SRK.
SRK calls John Abraham the best part of 'Pathaan'
The bromance between SRK and John was clearly visible and it was during the event, that SRK termed John's character 'Jim' as the backbone of the film. "I genuinely feel that the backbone and the best thing about Pathaan is Jim, played by John. John ho picture me lo toh kapdon ka kharcha bhi kam aata hai," said SRK.
Shah Rukh Khan jokes about John Abraham's 'pasta'
During the session, SRK also said that John eats pasta all day, which tastes like a 20-year-old cardboard. "He eats pasta all day that tastes like 20-year-old cardboard," said SRK.
Chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika cannot be missed
During the event, the chemistry between SRK and Deepika was clearly on show. The 'Swades' actor also sang 'Main Agar Kahoon' for Deepika. "You know me and Deepika just need an excuse to romance, to hug, to kiss. So any question you ask me, I will just kiss Deepika Padukone's hand and that will be the answer," said SRK.
John Abraham says SRK never took a break!
During the event, the fans did not stop screaming and at one point, one fan uttered: "SRK is back." To this, John said: "Just one correction, SRK is not back, he had just gone for a loo break. He was always there," said John.
